Market Review - December 2007

As always the final weeks of the year proved busy for NCB with several new fund and debt listings and also with many of our existing funds listing additional share classes within the period.

Gartmore Investment Limited ("Gartmore") is one such example, where they listed a new Cayman hedge fund in December, Gartmore Caytos Fund Limited. This fund seeks to provide investors with attractive risk-adjusted returns, primarily by taking concentrated and high conviction long and short positions in a broadly defined universe of financial sector companies or companies with significant activities in the financial sector. Gartmore also listed an additional euro denominated share class in The AlphaGen Perseus Fund Limited, which seeks to obtain its objective by investing in some or all of Gartmore's range of AlphaGen funds.

Deutsche International Corporate Services Limited listed another hedge fund within its dbX range of funds, the dbX-Resources Long/Short Equity 2 Fund, which aims to produce absolute returns by investing primarily in opportunities in the global mining, energy and resources sectors.

On the debt side of the business, this month saw the listing of a new Irish reinsurance deal, Atlas Reinsurance IV Limited, which listed on the Irish Stock Exchange's Alternative Securities Market. On the regulated market we also saw the listing of Sealane (Trade Finance) Limited & Sealane (Trade Finance) LLC, incorporated in the Cayman Islands and Delaware respectively and Mansard Mortgages 2007-2 plc, incorporated in England and Wales.

This last month has also seen several new listings of fund classes and series and also the listing of several additional series of notes under Fugu Credit plc.
